Functional overview. Exact layouts and component names vary by model.
Which symptoms are useful to report?
Won’t fill
Confirm tap supply and visible hose routing. Diagnosis may cover the inlet valve, level sensing and controls.
Water remains in the drum
Share the cycle stage and code. Inspect the accessible drain path, pump and related controls.
Loud spin or vibration
An uneven load or unstable floor can mimic a mechanical fault. Persistent noise warrants inspection of suspension and drum movement.
Leaks
Identify whether the leak appears during fill, wash or drain. Close the supply if safe and stop using the washer until assessed.
Drum repair or replacement
Check drum play, scraping and spin noise. Determine whether the bearing, shaft, support, inner drum or tub assembly is affected. Some models require an assembly replacement.
Bearing, suspension and drive repairs
Inspect vibration, worn dampers, loose drive components and uneven rotation after ruling out load and levelling problems.
Drain pump and inlet valve replacement
Verify fill and drain behaviour, hose condition and control signals before quoting a pump or valve.
Door boot, latch and lid switch
Check where water escapes and whether the washer recognizes a closed door or lid.
Motor, belt and control board
Trace no-spin and intermittent cycle faults to the drive, wiring or control before recommending parts.
